This is a guide for buying REAL SNAP ON diagnostic updates and proms online.
First proms. A good way to tell if selling "copies" of the latest prom updates is to see how many they sell.
Their should not be ANY of the latest prom updates for sale, as why would you sell them? You would not you would put them in your cartridge and use them as the newest 2004 and up are now the software updateable cartridges.
Yes there are "copies" of these proms for sale online. You should always be carefull when purchasing proms as you do not want to end up with a copy that is does not work correctly or could damage your equipment.
If someone is selling them over and over this is a good sign that they are not REAL SNAP ON proms, but most likely copies.
Modis and Solus updates.
Ok now the Modis and Solus updates, most of what is true about proms is true about update cards, their are update cards out their but you must remember once the update is installed in your scanner it is no longer usable for anyone else, as Snap On renders the update usless for anyone else to use.
These updates are very expensive and should be purchases from your local Snap On dealer to make sure you are getting a REAL SNAP ON update. Yes there are "copies" of these updates for sale online also, they usually do not work correctly if at all.
P.S. just a side note Snap On does not allow dealers to sell online.
