Going to australia, will they see my cigarettes in my bag?

Okay, so today i'm going to Australia. And basically i smoke and my parents don't know. Can i put my fags in my bag, or will security search them?|||If you have bizarre items or banned items, such as a lighter or a pair of scissors, they will search your bag and if the search thoroughly they will find your cigarettes, and, while these are allowed if you're 18+), your parents will probably notice. Maybe its better to put them in the hold luggage if you have your own suitcase? Also remember to make sure all liquids are less than 100ml and put them in a plastic bag, as that is another reason security will search your bag.If you adhere to all the security rules, your bag is unlikely to be searched and your smoking secret will be safe!!|||Of course the security people see them - that is the whole point of running every bag through the x-ray machines.Do they care? In checked luggage - no.In carry on luggage - probably not. Cigarette possession laws are by state. Screening rules are federal, so there is no rule against cigarettes - all smokers will have them in their bag, or in a pocket. If you look like you are 12, then they might do something.Lighters are permitted in carry on luggage (and are, in fact, forbidden in checked luggage).
