and had nothing to do with your rant. Secondly, many forms on the internet are not updated immideately. You were told what to do. The person at the front desk did not know you did not have a copy of your passport so how was he to tell you? Or did you expect him to wipe your ass too?
This is what the Chinese Embassy visa application instructions say, right off the instructions:

You are just another dumb ass broad who gets mad because you cannot follow instructions.
